My parents always taught us that the birthing of a child was natural and spiritual. When my husband and I found out we were pregnant it was very important to me to have a natural birth and to welcome the child into the world as peacefully as possible.
When we had the opportunity to have it documented through photography, my husband was very excited, but I wasn't. I didn't know if I'd feel comfortable with someone I didn't know very well in the room as I birthed, let alone having this person taking photographs the whole time! But, when I looked at Stacy's photography I realized she was very good and I felt that I could trust her. After putting it off for 2 weeks I called her to see if she'd be able to photograph my son's birth. She said she would be happy to. The next day we went into labor. My husband, mother and I rushed to the Birthing Center and called Stacy. She met us there. The whole time she was very professional, friendly, and sympathetic. Afterwards when my son was in my arms and I was on cloud nine I realized that Stacy was still there with her camera and so was a good friend of mine! What I realized was that it would not have mattered who was in the room, I was having a baby and that demanded my full attention and concentration :)
I still look at the pictures of my son's birth and cry when I recall the miracle of his coming into the world. Stacy's pictures capture the timing, emotions, and events beautifully. They are pictures to cherish.
